Our history

CDS Construction Services Limited formed in 1976 when
brothers John and James Quille saw a need for a reliable and efficient refurbishment and fit out contractor in Central London. Now the company operates throughout London, Berkshire and the South East. The company is now run by John’s son Martin Quille and his fellow Director Steve Taylor who have spent 37 and 32 years respectively serving the company. But even though times have changed we still take the same great pride in the quality and efficiency of our works as the Quille brothers did forty five years ago.

The future of our planet is important to us, so we aim to operate in an environmentally friendly way. This means we pay attention to where our materials, especially timber, are sourced, and we attempt to minimise the environmental impact of our construction services.

Associations

Our high standards and attention to detail have allowed us to become members of various associations of which the most prestigious is the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS). We have been members of this exclusive trade association since 2005, the NAS stands out as a symbol of excellence in the interiors sector. We are very proud that our MD Martin Quille recently served as President from 2017 until 2019 and is still actively involved on the National Council.

We are also fully accredited members of CHAS and Safecontractor both of which are widely recognised industry health and safety organisations and part of the SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) demonstrating our commitment and dedication to Health and Safety on our projects.

Health and safety

Stringent health and safety policies are vital for any business offering construction services, both for the protection of our team and our clients. With our membership of the CHAS and Safecontractor organisations, our clients can be sure that they are hiring experienced and conscientious contractors for their construction services. 

In addition, our staff are highly trained in safety measures. All of our team members undergo annual UKATA Asbestos Awareness training and hold PASMA Certificates of Competence which allows them to erect access equipment. Those working in specialised fields receive constant training to enable them to do their jobs safely and well. 

Our Site Supervisors are all fully qualified First Aiders and have achieved the universally recognised and respected SMSTS (Site Management and Safety Training Scheme) qualifications.
